The Hunan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology recently released two lists of Hunan's first batch of proposed key new material products for 2025. A total of 35 enterprises from Changsha made the lists with their products, demonstrating the great strengths of Changsha's manufacturing industry. The enterprises include Hunan Changyuan Lico New Energy Co., Ltd., Hunan Xiangtou Goldsky Titanium Metal Co., Ltd., and Changsha Dialine New Materials Sci &Tech Co., Ltd.

The listed Changsha enterprises and products highly focus on strategic emerging industries, aligning perfectly with the development of the new materials sector.

With deepened industry-university-research cooperation as a key driving force, Changsha's new materials industry has now developed a complete industrial chain, ranging from fundamental research to applications. The city has gathered 430 enterprises above designated size, with an annual output value exceeding 142 billion CNY. The CNGR New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. based in Changsha has been ranked on the Global Unicorn Index for two consecutive years. The Global Unicorn Index is a ranking of the world's start-ups founded after the year 2000, worth at least one billion USD and not yet listed on a public exchange. In the field of new materials, Changsha is home to 63 national-level specialized and innovative "little giant" enterprises and 13 provincial-level pilot-scale testing platforms. Notably, the establishment of the National Technology Innovation Center for Efficient Development of Strategic Rare Metal Mineral Resources in Changsha has significantly promoted the commercialization of scientific achievements, as well as industrial transformation and upgrading.
