The annual nationwide summer travel rush has come to the end recently, lasting for 62 days.

According to the Hunan Airport Group, Hunan's airports handled 7.158 million passenger trips and ensured 49,513 flight takeoffs and landings in total during the summer travel rush period. Among them, the Changsha Huanghua International Airport handled 5.932 million passenger trips, with a daily average of 96,000, and ensured 39,554 flight takeoffs and landings, averaging 638 per day.

During this period, the ten airports across the province provided access to 173 cities, including the international destinations like Nairobi, London, Tokyo, Seoul, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Vientiane, further enhancing their regional accessibility.

To cope with the booming travel demands, the Changsha Huanghua International Airport has given priority to increasing flights to such regions as Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, and Yunnan, and launched new special routes to Hulunbuir, Manzhouli, and Ankang. The "Hunan Express Flight Services" operated 17 to 27 flights from Changsha to Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, and Hainan every day, achieving bus-mode flight operation.

Beyond that, some airlines, such as the Xiamen Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, and Kunming Airlines, enhanced all-economy class layout in Changsha to cater to the demands of the summer travel market. The number of passenger trips per flight between Changsha and 17 destinations including Turpan, Xiamen, Sanya, Lijiang, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur reached more than 160 on average, with the figure to London and Nairobi hitting 200.
