The 17th Hunan-Taiwan Cooperation Conference on Economy, Trade, and Culture will be held in Hunan between September 15 and 21, 2025, said the Information Office of Hunan Provincial People's Government at a press conference on September 9, 2025.
The conference will be jointly hosted by the People's Government of Hunan Province and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, with support from the Association of Taiwan Investment Enterprises on the Mainland. Specific activities will be undertaken by the Taiwan Affairs Office of Hunan Province, the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang, the People's Government of Changsha City, the People's Government of Yueyang City, the People's Government of Zhangjiajie City, and the Management Committee of the Xiangjiang New Area.
Themed "Sharing New Opportunities, Integrating Towards the Future," this year's session will consist of one main event and four thematic activities, based on the dual drivers of economic and cultural exchange. Specifically:
- The opening ceremony of the 17th Hunan-Taiwan Cooperation Conference on Economy, Trade, and Culture on the morning of September 16;
- The First Cross-Strait (Hunan) Tourism High-quality Development Conference in Zhangjiajie City;
- The 2025 Hunan-Taiwan Entrepreneurs and Youth Innovation & Entrepreneurship Exchange Activity in the Xiangjiang New Area;
- The Fourth Cross-Strait Agricultural and Cultural Exchange Event in Yueyang City; and,
- The 2025 Hunan-Taiwan Youth Entrepreneurs Integration and Development Conference in Changsha City.
Following the conference, relevant cities and prefecture such as Changsha, Yueyang, Zhangjiajie, Huaihua, and Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture will leverage local resources and industrial strengths to invite representatives of Taiwanese entrepreneurs for on-site visits. This initiative aims to facilitate targeted matchmaking and implementation of Taiwan investment projects, transforming the momentum of exchange into pragmatic collaboration outcomes.
Initiated in 2005, the Hunan-Taiwan Cooperation Conference has held sixteen sessions over the years. The conference has provided powerful momentum for promoting economic and trade cooperation between Hunan and Taiwan, strengthening bonds among compatriots, and advancing Hunan's economic and social development. The event has gained significant influence in both Hunan and Taiwan as a vital platform for communication.
The Taiwan Affairs Office of Hunan Province will coordinate guest invitations with the organizers of various thematic events for this conference. Approximately 500 participants will attend, including over 400 Taiwan guests. The guests will include key figures, heads of industrial associations, entrepreneurs, Taiwan youth, and grassroots citizens. These guests will come to Hunan for the main event of the Hunan-Taiwan Cooperation Conference. This marks the largest delegation of Taiwan attendees to Hunan in recent years.?
